BS (how appropriately acronymed!) kept denying my migraine treatment claims by submitting them under Mental Benefits where they don't belong. So they'd come back and say: "you don't have a severe mental condition so we wo't cover you". Yeah, no ***! Migraines are not a mental condition to begin with!!

Migraine treatment by biofeedback is a covered benefit under my plan and after filing a grievance with them (and them continuing to decline coverage), I finally filed a grievance with the Dept of Insurance and I got paid immediately.

Now why the *** should I spend all this extra time just to get benefits I am entitled to and paying for??

Even after this, I then submitted additional claims for that SAME treatment (additional dates of service) and they denied them AGAIN!!! The nerve of these people is unbelievable! All I had to do this time was call and they said "don't worry, we will resubmit them and pay them", because they know the Dept. of Insurance would be on their *** again. Nevertheless, they still tried to get away with it, in case I decided not to do anything about not getting paid...

Shame on you, BLue Shield, your business practices are abhorrent!

Blue shield is very problematic. I have another issue with necessary eye therapy where Blue Shield keeps on changing excuses and on why they won't pay..

If we challange their reasoning, they will come up with a new reason.

For Blue Shield if it is not a life or death situation you have no idea whether they will pay or not... I have noticed at least for me they pay for well checks and most testing but try not to pay for treatments when it comes to vision, mental.
